Duo harp / flute
Zoë Knoop and Maartje Valk met in the Twents Youth Symphony Orchestra and started playing together during spring 2011. After trying some notes from the famous flute harp concerto by Mozart they decided to go on as a duo. Although they are no longer playing in this youth orchestra and are both studying at different conservatories, which lay more than 300 kilometres apart – Maartje studies at the royal conservatory of The Hague, Zoë at the conservatory of Detmold – they still form a very close duo. They form a good team, both socially as musically. In March 2013 the won the ensemble prize at the Prinses Christina Concours, Netherlands. They perform a beautiful program with works by Debussy, Tournier, Bax, Harty, Alwyn and Piazzolla. You can download the program notes here (only in Dutch).
